However, the T-64 is an old tank and may become inoperable even without major damage. The Malyshev Factory is unlikely to build new T-64s, as they have not manufactured a tank from scratch in 36 years. The demand for refurbished tanks is high, and Ukraine's priority is likely to be on the war rather than a shortage of tanks.
