The hub will utilize local hydropower sources for hydrogen production through electrolysis, with surplus oxygen being used in fish farming. Norwegian Hydrogen is also planning a larger hydrogen hub in Ørskog, which will have renewable hydropower electrolysis capabilities of up to 250 MW. They have established Vireon AS to become the leading operator of hydrogen refueling stations for heavy transport in the Nordics.
