Scott Jennings made a fantastic point about DOGE last night on CNN, telling the panel that a Cabinet member told him that one of the big accomplishments of DOGE is that they have been able to solve major IT issues that has allowed the Trump administration to clear out incredible backlogs left behind by the Biden administration.
After he said that, Gretchen Carlson became somewhat irate about it, suggesting Americans want to see real cuts and said “they’ve solved IT problems?”
Jennings hit back and asked “Why are you so angry??”
Here’s the full video:
Gretchen Carlson is a complete dumbass, pardon my french. Jennings said the Cabinet member told him it was “one of the most interesting” things DOGE had done for him, not that it was DOGE’s “greatest accomplishment” as Carlson suggested. She sounds just like a Democrat with TDS, trying to turn something great into some kind of terrible tragedy. Absolutely ridiculous.
Elon Musk retweeted this out via Katherine Boyle, who said:
Most people who yap for a living have no idea what IT means in this context. You cannot even begin to tackle waste, fraud and abuse if you don’t have a system of record, if there’s zero transparency in that system. If there’s 20 different systems that can’t talk to each other. If you can’t see where the money is flowing. If we’re still using a mine in Pennsylvania to house the federal government’s retirement records.
“Why are they focused on IT?!?” Is an effective but extremely dumb meme. It’s a language problem because the smartest engineers on the planet are doing something different than what Gretchen Carlson assumes they’re doing.
Musk replied to this saying, “The @DOGE team is making a real difference fixing broken software, computer and communications systems in the government. It is difficult to convey with words just how messed up the systems are! Tech Support is sorely needed.”
