Democratic Senator Patty Murray from Washington State, the President pro tempore of the United States Senate, has just released a statement tonight increasing the pressure on Biden to do a lot more in the near future to prove to voters he’s up for the job.
Here’s what she wrote, in part:
More than a week since the debate, and after talking with my constituents, I believe President Biden must do more to demonstrate he can campaign strong enough to beat Donald Trump. There is such a case to be prosecuted against Donald Trump…
“We need to see a much more forceful and energetic candidate on the campaign trail in the very near future in order for him to convince voters he is up to the job…“
“We need to see a much more forceful and energetic candidate…” – well that ain’t going to happen. Biden can barely stay awake after 4pm and he has to have directions on how to find the podium. Asking for him to be forceful and energetic at this point is almost like asking an invalid to dance.
Honestly, it sounds like she’s setting up her rationale to use when she calls on Biden to get out of the race. She doesn’t want to just come out and say it now, but she wants to say it and wants to look perfectly reasonable while doing it.
Boy, the DNC is going to be fantastic.
