NextImg:WATCH: Titanic expedition leader doesn’t believe Navy can do anything for tourists trapped near Titanic wreckage

A Titanic expedition leader, G Michael Harris, was on Jesse Watters show tonight to discuss the tourists who may be lost near the Titanic wreckage. Apparently several individuals paid $250,000 to see the actual wreckage of the RMS Titanic via a small sub and have not returned.

They only have three days of oxygen left and Harris did not seem optimistic at all about the chances of the Navy being able to do anything to save them:

The depths we’re talking about are around 12,500 feet below sea level. Harris said the tourists went down to the Titanic in a sub that was only recently created within the last couple of years and hasn’t been truly tested at these depths. What he fears is that the sub was crushed under the extreme pressure of that depth.

When asked what the Navy can do right now, he said ‘nothing’. “When you’re talking 6,000 pounds per square inch, it is a dangerous environment. More people have been to outerspace than to this depth of the ocean. When you’re diving in these situations you have cross your t’s, dot your i’s, you have to do everything absolutely perfect and by the book. Throwing a bunch of tourists in a new sub that was just created over the last several years…it’s not looking good.”
