Tennessee preacher Dr. Steve Caudle blatantly lied about Elon Musk and DOGE this weekend, claiming Musk has “forced his way into the US Treasury and threatens to steal your personal information and your social security checks.”
Absolutely and completely untrue.
But then this devilish liar calls for violence against Musk, saying “Sometimes the devil will act so ugly that you have no other choice but to get violent and fight.”
Caudle even justifies his call for violence by misinterpreting Matthew 11:12, which he quotes “the kingdom of Heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.”
But that doesn’t at all mean what he claims it means, and certainly not violence against Elon Musk, who is simply trying to make government more accountable and efficient. While Matthew 11:12 is an obscure reference by Jesus, many believe it refers to a couple of things, namely asceticism of the Saints (severe rejection of the world by prayer and fasting) or the incoming time of the “Messianic woes”, by which the world would violently persecute the Saints for their fervent Christian beliefs, like they did to John the Baptist (who is the context of this verse), Jesus and His Apostles.
Whatever the case, this verse nor does the Bible justify the violence to which he’s calling his congregation. And it’s appalling that he’d lie to his congregants, just like Satan, and then call them to physical violence.
