This morning Speaker McCarthy told Fox News that he would begin impeachment proceedings on Attorney General Merrick Garland if what the IRS whistleblower says is true.
Here’s the clip:
Below is what McCarthy was referring to on Twitter, where he said: “We need to get to the facts, and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. U.S. Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee. If the whistleblowers’ allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into Merrick Garland’s weaponization of DOJ.”
He seemed to suggest he’d start these proceedings very soon, perhaps by July 6th, which is only a little over a week away. I guess this means the House will have David Weiss come before their committees soon.
