One of the first questions in today’s White House daily press conference was completely expected, and it was on President Trump’s proposal yesterday for the US to take over Gaza.
Of course, the reporter who asked the question suggested that Trump’s idea would lead to the US military getting ‘entangled’ in a conflict abroad and said this conflicts with Trump’s entire career of arguing against this very kind of ‘entanglement’.
But Leavitt said that’s not what Trump announced at all, and proceeded to accurately defend the president’s proposal, which currently involves no troops on the ground and no US taxpayer money going to the rebuilding of Gaza.
Watch below:
Leavitt was very prepared for this question and did a great job, in my opinion, dismantling the false narratives being pushed by the media already.
Another reporter asked about the removal of Palestinians and if Trump would use the military to do it. She also falsely suggested that Trump would have the military on the ground in Gaza fighting Hamas.
