Senator John Fetterman spoke to CNN this morning about his meeting with Pete Hegseth today and honestly sounded like the most level headed and fair Democrat you’ve ever heard in the US Senate.

Of the more quotable things from Fetterman, he said “Democrats or other people can freak out over anyone that was nominated, and I am not that guy.”

He said he’d never heard of Hegseth before his nomination and sincerely wants to get to know the man who could be running the Pentagon.

What I liked was when the garbage CNN reporter asked Fetterman if he was going to question Hegseth about the sexual assault and excessive drinking allegations, Fetterman completely played it down after saying ‘yes’ by suggesting there will also be a FBI background check and a Senate hearing.

He also added, and I think very importantly: “Trump carried Pennsylvania and he’s gonna be the next president and it’s all part of the conversation. That’s why I’ve decided to engage with people who are going to be incredibly important parts of the new administration.”
