Candace Owens said in an interview yesterday that the United States shouldn’t have gotten involved in World War II.
When asked about Japan attacking Pearl Harbor, she said we should have responded but we shouldn’t have nuked Japan. And that shouldn’t have necessitated us getting into a World War.
Watch below:
It’s amazing to me that she can say this about nuking Japan. The war with Japan in the years after Pearl Harbor was costing hundreds of thousands of lives, both Japanese and American. The Japanese were vicious fighters who thought dying was far better than surrendering and the American death toll was getting greater and greater. It was Harry Truman who decided that it was better to end the war with nukes than invade Japan and try to win the war conventionally, which would have cost hundreds of thousand more lives. He warned Japan to surrender and when they refused, he dropped both nukes in August of 1945 and the war was finally over.
But what’s worse, she says we shouldn’t have gotten involved in World War 2? That’s insanity. I guess Owens wanted the Nazis to win because that might well have happened if it we didn’t get involved. Hitler had already proved Europe was no match for his Nazi Army.
I used to have a lot of respect for Owens but not any longer.
