Fox News legal editor cited the Mark Levin School of Thought on the case in D.C. in which Judge James Boasberg is “pretty determined” to find a way to rule that President Donald Trump and his administration violated an injunction when deporting criminal gang members to Venezuela.
“An injunction is an injunction when it is written,” said Urbahn on Thursday citing Mark Levin. And that’s the crux of the whole thing, because, as Urbahn convincingly argues, the government is stating that they sent no new flights that were prohibited after the moment the order was written.
The judge, and to some degree Andy McCarthy, are claiming that it’s not about when it was written but when it was decided and spoken aloud, essentially. You know, things that don’t come with timestamps and signatures.
It’s an interesting discussion though – a lot of people including on the right have been out saying the Judge isn’t a typical left wing activist, and others including the Trump administration saying that he obviously is.
And he probably doesn’t see himself that way – these so-called moderate leftist folks in American politics always imagine that their actions, even when clearly against the mores or ethics of their profession, are perfectly justified by the political equivalent of “exigent circumstances.” Of course that only proves the point about their activism, it doesn’t mitigate it.
By the way, after the above clip, MacCallum showed the clip of JD Vance talking about the necessity of deportations and the INSANITY of the left’s efforts to keep murders who are here illegally to STAY here – and, again, the conversation was fascinating to me.
This was informed, adult debate and discussion on an important and nuanced topic. You know, the exact thing you never EVER see on any of the other cable news channels.
Just sayin’.
