A driver appears to have intentionally rammed his vehicle into a crowd of people in Liverpool, England, hitting multiple pedestrians before coming to a stop.

Sky News says “The incident happened as thousands of fans lined the streets of the city to celebrate Liverpool’s Premier League title victory.”

You can see this as it happens in the video below:

I don’t know if this killed anyone, but surely some are seriously hurt as they lay on the ground in front of the vehicle. There are no official reports on injuries yet.

I’ve read that the male driving the car is in custody.

UPDATE: Police arrested a 53-year-old man according to Sky News:

A police spokesperson said: “We would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding tonight’s incident on Water Street in Liverpool city centre.

“We can confirm the man arrested is a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area.

There are still no injury reports yet.
