Last week the United States vetoed a resolution in the UN Security Council to demand a cease-fire in Gaza. That angered a bunch of Islamic nations, who called for an emergency session to vote on a cease-fire in the larger general assembly.
According to the AP, 153 countries out of 193 voted for the cease-fire resolution. The only problem is that it doesn’t mean anything because it’s not legally binding.
The AP writes that Israel and the US were joined in voting against the resolution by “Austria, Czechia, Guatemala, Liberia, Micronesia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay.”
The other 23 countries abstained from the vote and 7 did not vote at all, as you can see below:
