Governor DeSantis was asked this morning how he feels about Trump skipping the debate and whether that will have an impact on how well he does.

In short, DeSantis said Trump owes it to people to participate in the debates:

DeSantis said: “I think we’ll do well either way but he owes it to people to participate. Nobody is entitled to be nominated. You’ve got to earn it. You’ve got to earn everything in this world. And so I think you show up, I think you participate, I think you make your case and I think you answer questions. We’re going to be doing that regardless of who else shows up. But yeah, I think he ought to participate.”

I fully expect Trump to ditch the debates because he doesn’t think he needs them. But who knows, maybe he’ll surprise everyone and show up.
