A sheriff deputy was ambushed and murdered last night in California while in his patrol car. According to Bill Melugin, a car pulled alongside the deputy at a stoplight in front of his police station and someone in the car shot him in the head and then sped off.

The 30-year-old deputy was taken to the hospital and later it was announced that he had died. As of last night the suspects are still on the run.

UPDATE: Below is the photo of Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer. The New York Post reports that he had just recently gotten engaged four days prior to his murder last night.
