Governor DeSantis got a question today about campaigning for president and he hit back on that, saying it’s not true.
Here’s what Governor DeSantis says:
“Nobody has used our communications staff to campaign. That is not true. They have a duty to represent our office. Our office takes a lot of incoming everyday. I take more incoming as a sitting governor than any governor in this country. Much of it is BS. So they’re constantly having to battle phony narratives and battle nonsense. I wish we didn’t have to do that.
Look, I wish we didn’t have partisan outlets pursuing partisan agendas. But the fact that that’s happening – it doesn’t matter if that’s in a political context or if it’s just about a piece of legislation. It’s coming in at us and so we have a responsibility to be able to handle that.
So that doesn’t matter. Whether you’re a candidate or not a candidate at all, you have that. And so it’s totally appropriate to have a governor’s staff and it’s totally appropriate for us to be fighting back. I’m not asking people from New York and DC to come down here and try and dig for dirt. That’s what they’re doing. And so we absolutely have every right to fight back.
And look, they’re saying like, a campaign? They’re the ones that are coming at us! Of course we are going to fight back.”
Governor DeSantis also ripped into the so-called ‘gender healthcare’ when it comes to minors:
DeSantis if a badass when it comes to fighting the culture wars. And it’s something we must do, despite what you may be hearing since yesterday about the ‘culture wars’ not being important.
