The loathsome New York Attorney General Letitia James is suing the New York county of Nassau over their new local law protecting female sports from the transgender pretender crowd.
The new law, signed by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, “requires sports leagues and programs to “expressly designate” teams based on the sex assigned to participants at birth. Permits will not be given to organizations that allow trans women to compete on women’s teams but will allow trans men to compete on men’s teams,” according to ABC News.
James and the local ACUL already sued to stop a similar executive order by Blakeman in February and the Nassau County Supreme Court struck that down.
Now they seek, once again, to stop this new law from remaining in effect on the basis that it “violates state laws protecting New Yorkers from discrimination based on their gender identity or expression,” writes ABC News.
Blakeman responded to this lawsuit on X yesterday, saying “I am very disappointed that the Attorney General would attempt to frustrate Nassau County’s desire to protect the integrity of women’s sports, ensure the safety of its participants and provide a safe environment for girls and women to compete.”
I’m with him 100%, but he’ll probably lose again since it’s New York. But I applaud him for continuing to fight to protect the integrity of female sports and I hope he takes this one as far as he can in the legal system.
