Brit Hume hammered Team Trump last night for opposing Larry Hogan, the Republican candidate for the US Senate in Maryland who might actually be able to flip Ben Cardin’s seat.
Hume called their opposition to Hogan ‘political malpractice’ and essentially called it stupid.
Hogan made this comment last week which is what caused Lara Trump to come out against him:
Regardless of the result, I urge all Americans to respect the verdict and the legal process. At this dangerously divided moment in our history, all leaders—regardless of party—must not pour fuel on the fire with more toxic partisanship. We must reaffirm what has made this nation great: the rule of law.
I get why this would upset people, especially when the case was clearly rigged against Trump from all sides.
But Hume suggests this doesn’t matter, saying that Lara Trump and the entire Trump campaign should put their differences aside and still support Hogan because he can help them win the Senate from a deeply blue state.
Hume went on to compare Team Trump’s opposition to Hogan to how President Trump went into Georgia back in 2020 and talked “voters out of voting” by “criticizing the voting process” after the election, leading Republicans to lose control of the Senate. Hume says that could happen again “with this kind of stupid stuff.”
