NextImg:Iowa Senator REVOKES endorsement of Trump after attack on Gov Reynolds, so Trump campaign ATTACKS him too

Iowa Senator Jeff Reichman has revoked his endorsement of Trump after he attacked Governor Reynolds this week.

In case you missed it, Trump didn’t like the fact that Reynolds wanted to stay neutral in the race for president so he took to Trump Social and lit her up for not being loyal to him.

Here’s more on this from the Des Moines Register:

An Iowa Republican senator has revoked his endorsement of former President Donald Trump for attacking Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on social media.

In an interview with the Des Moines Register, Reichman said Reynolds has “become family.”

“Trump is very outspoken. We’ve come to expect that, and that’s fine when it was focused at the right people,” Reichman said. “And then this week, when it became focused on our governor … I felt like it was the right thing to do to look out for our governor, our home team here. Keeping that in mind, I decided to pull my endorsement for Trump.”

Reichman has now endorsed Governor DeSantis:

First-term Sen. Jeff Reichman, R-Montrose, announced Thursday he now endorses Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Reichman acknowledged the similarities between Republican priorities in Iowa and in Florida. Lawmakers in both states have passed similar legislation, including bills to use state funds for private school expenses, to prohibit most abortions after about six weeks of pregnancy and to limit instruction on LGBTQ topics.

“We passed a lot of the same or similar legislation, so it was a pretty clear choice,” Reichman said.

Team Trump attacked Reichman for being disloyal and claimed he’d been paid off by DeSantis:

In response to Reichman’s decision to withdraw his endorsement, Trump campaign spokesperson Stephen Cheung told POLITICO, which first reported the story, “there is no room for weak-kneed and lily-livered people on Team Trump.” Cheung said the DeSantis campaign “promised financial support” to win over Reichman.

Reichman said financial support was “definitely not” a factor in his decision, and he objected to being called “weak-kneed and lily-livered.”

“I’m a 29-year (U.S. Marine Corps) combat veteran,” Reichman said in a text message. “I can assure you that I am neither.”

Team Trump could have just said nothing about losing the endorsement. Instead they chose to insult and attack Reichman and then lie about him being bribed by DeSantis, as if that’s the only reason someone would leave Trump. Geez.

I honestly don’t know how Trump supporters are okay with the behavior of Trump these days. What his demand for loyalty tells you is that he never supported DeSantis or Reynolds just because he wanted them to win. No he did it because he wanted them to be loyal to him and help him win in the future. It’s very self-serving reason to endorse a candidate and when they aren’t loyal to him, he’d just as soon see them destroyed. He’s like a political mob boss.
