A border patrol agent was killed today in the line of duty by an illegal immigration during a traffic stop in Vermont.
The illegal, who is also deceased, was reported to be a visa overstay.

FOX NEWS – A United States Border Agent was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Vermont near the Northern border, Fox News has confirmed.
The Department of Homeland Security said that a Border Patrol agent was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Coventry, Vermont on Monday at 3:15 p.m. Coventry is near the U.S.-Canada border.
During the traffic stop, two suspects were in the car. Officials confirmed that one of the suspects is dead.
Vermont Governor Phil Scott’s office said that he is aware of the incident and that the “Vermont State Police are supporting our federal partners.”
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Vermont State Police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for comment.

Border Patrol agent in northern Vermont was fatally shot in the neck by what is reported to be an illegal immigrant, just after President Donald Trump was being sworn in hundreds of miles away in Washington on a promise to deem the border crisis a “national emergency” on his first day in office.
NewsNation’s Ali Bradley reported Monday that the border agent was shot while conducting a traffic stop. The shooter, whom Bradley referred to as a “visa overstay,” was also reportedly killed.
Newsweek reached out to Customs and Border Patrol via email for more information but did not immediately receive a response.
