NextImg:Here’s the latest on the Pope who is still in critical condition… – The Right Scoop

The Pope’s condition is said to still be critical, especially since they’ve noticed a ‘mild renal insufficiency’ in the 88-year-old pontiff, or the beginnings of kidney failure.

Raymond Arroyo just gave the latest on the Pope’s condition as of today:

LATEST on Pope’s Health from the Vatican Press Office:

“The clinical condition of the Holy Father, though still critical, show a slight improvement.

Today there were no episodes of asthmatic respiratory crises; some laboratory tests have improved.

Monitoring of the mild renal insufficiency does not cause concern. Oxygen therapy continues, with slightly reduced flow and percentage of oxygen.

The doctors, considering the complexity of the clinical picture, prudentially do not yet give a prognosis. In the morning the Pope received Holy Communion, while in the afternoon he resumed his work.

In the evening he called the Parish Priest of the Parish of Gaza to express his paternal closeness. Pope Francis thanks all the people of God who have gathered in recent days to pray for his health.”

It sounds to me like it’s not looking very good for the Pope, even with the ‘slight improvement’. We’ll pray that he improves enough to get back to his duties as Pope.
