Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries just gave a dumbass definition of DEI to try and claim it’s an inherent American value.
Here’s what he said, according to Chad Pergram:
Jeffries: Diversity, equity and inclusion are American values. Perhaps I can explain. The motto of the United States of America is e pluribus unum. Out of many, one. That’s diversity.
The 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution—one of the most important amendments in our country—provides equal protection under the law. That’s equity.
In this country, we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. A flag that we just presented to the new President and Vice President. And in that pledge, we promise, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. A-L-L. That’s inclusion.
Not complicated. Diversity, equity and inclusion are American values. It’s about economic opportunity. It’s about merit for everyone, based on what you know, not who you know.
First of all, E Pluribus Unum isn’t the motto of the United States because it’s about diversity. It’s the motto of the United States because 13 colonies came together to fight the British and we became 50 states, unified as one. All of the different immigrants that formed our great country became the same, assimilated and unified. It’s really the opposite of diversity.
Second of all, the 14th amendment isn’t about equity. It’s about equality, which again is the opposite. Equality is about providing the same opportunities to all. Equity is about trying to use the government to force the same outcomes for all, which is a very socialist ideal.
Lastly, “one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” is not about ‘inclusion’. Just like the motto it’s also about equality, putting forth the ideal that all Americans, unified as one nation, are due their God given rights of liberty and justice.
DEI is nothing but segregation and racism, and in practice it’s disastrous. Just look no further than the DEI leadership in Los Angeles and how they’ve allowed these wildfires to become so destructive, killing some and destroying the lives of many, many more.
