Fox contributor Andy McCarthy talked with Fox legal editor Kerri Urbahn and host Marth MacCallum Thursday about the hearing over whether the Trump administration violated Judge James Boasberg’s injunction with the flight full of criminal illegal alien gang members to Venezuela a few weeks back.
Now don’t get me wrong, this was a pretty good discussion. I already posted the first half, wherein they discussed the central issue — whether the clock started with the written order or the judge’s verbal statements. That was great, and Urbahn cited the great Mark Levin from way back in the early 2000s in making her convincing case.
After they watched a clip of Vice President JD Vance talking about the issue, MacCallum asked him to react, basically, and he said that “politics is overwhelming the law” and that “no one is saying that they can’t deport these people.”
“In the United States we have due process of law,” said McCarthy. And Urbahn in her comments noted again that the judge is “frustrated.” The implication that this Judge is angry and lashing out is VERY clear. His remarks in the hearing today make that more than clear.
McCarthy, in the previous clip, said that while Boasberg is “a left of center judge” but he’s “not a bad judge and he’s certainly not a lunatic.”
Again, this is a great discussion on a debatable point, but it seems clear that both on the law and the politics, the Trump administration is correct here. And the judge will refuse to agree. And that’s why Vance is talking about judicial activism.
I mean it’s all right there.
