NextImg:Former Senator Martha McSally reveals she was sexually assaulted while jogging in Iowa

Former Senator from Arizona and veteran, Martha McSally, revealed in an Instagram post how she was sexually assaulted and molested while jogging in Iowa.

She said a man ran up behind her and put her in a bear hug and began sexually assaulting her. But she fought him off and then chased him to an area where he went into hiding.

She of course called the police and waited where he was hiding, but she doesn’t think they ever found him.

She’s dealt with rape in the past and this has undoubtedly brought up bad memories for her.

I’m glad she’s okay and this is her account of it all:

I should note that as of this morning, people have identified a suspect and have issued an arrested warrant for him:

Council Bluffs police issued an arrest warrant late Thursday charging a Papillion man with assault in an alleged attack on former Arizona U.S. Senator Martha McSally.

In a news release, police said they identified Dominic Henton of Papillion as the alleged attacker and released surveillance images taken from cameras in Tom Hanafan Park.

Around 10:53 a.m Wednesday, Council Bluffs officers responded to the park for a report of an assault.

Investigators said surveillance video shows a man, suspected to be Henton, followed McSally over the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, then southbound on the trail in Council Bluffs.

Henton is a white male, age 25, 5’8″ and 140 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

Police say he is believed to be a transient at this time and may frequent the riverfront on both the Nebraska and Iowa sides.

I hope they get him behind bars soon and kudos to police for identifying him so quickly.
