Trey Gowdy might have surprised a few people with his Fox News appearance this afternoon in which he said that President Donald Trump and the administration actually should bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the U.S. instead of allowing him to remain in El Salvador.
“I think what they ought to do is probably follow the judge’s order and the Supreme Court decision, which used the word facilitate,” said Gowdy to Martha MacCallum on The Story Tuesday. “Also in that opinion, Martha, were the words, accidental, mistake, and illegal – I mean those are not three good words you want in a Supreme Court decision.”
“What we can’t have is any executive disobeying or not following a judge’s decision, even if you disagree with it!” he said.
I would say that ain’t exactly the party line, y’all. But he did make an interesting point I hadn’t thought of that’s not half bad.
“Look, I don’t want the guy in the United States, although I will say this: if the press secretary’s facts are right, it should be an easy conviction!” he said. “And do I have more confidence in U.S. prisons or El Salvadorian prisons? U.S. prisons.”
He used the so-called “prison” that Pablo Escobar went to as an example.
He also suggested if the president doesn’t share his confidence in the American court system — and I mean … should he? — but if he doesn’t, said Gowdy, then they could bring the guy back and remove him to a different country instead of El Salvador.
That’s not bad either – but I’m still not convinced that they aren’t following the letter of the decision by the Supreme Court. Martha brought that up but they didn’t really settle that question, although it was funny that he pointed out that there’s no chance the president of El Salvador would say no to Trump.
Anyhow, y’all go ahead and discuss below. And mosey on over to Rumble to follow the PTVC channel too, why not?
