CNN just released a story with the title “Biden’s mental fitness could have been better covered leading up to the debate, some White House reporters acknowledge.”

In the story they admit why reporters have been ignoring Biden’s cognitive issues and you won’t be one bit surprised:

As Greenwald points out, about 19 paragraphs down CNN writes:

The White House press shop has also been very “aggressive” and “fairly successful” in mitigating coverage of concerns over the president’s age, said another White House reporter who works for a different publication.

“[B]erating reporters who bring them reporting about age concerns, bemoaning that it’s all anyone writes about (clearly, it’s not) and often attacking pieces after they run,” the reporter told CNN. “I think that’s left some folks to conclude that these stories are too painful to report or that they should pick their spots more. It’s clear the age stories that have angered the White House (and the liberal Twittersphere) the most.”

I believe I said earlier today or last night that reporters ignored Biden’s cognitive decline because they care about access to the White House. Not because I’m psychic – no it’s obvious! This White House has bullied reporters into silence and these reporters complied.

During the Trump years these reporters didn’t give a damn about anything but attacking Trump and if they were ever bullied by the White House, it would have gotten scandalous coverage.

I said that by reporting on this now these reporters and media outlets were admitting their own journalistic malpractice. And now they’ve put it directly in print.
