Rep. Mike Johnson from Louisiana has just been elected as the new Republican Speaker of the House after three weeks of disagreement since Speaker McCarthy was ousted in early October.
Johnson has ended up with an unbelievable unanimous vote from the Republican side of the House least so far, having no opposition votes as he reaches 215, which is all that is needed today given the quorum call:
I really wasn’t sure Johnson could get elected today because the Republican House has been so divided over who replaces McCarthy. It’s been like ping pong, going back and forth between conservatives and moderates/RINOs.
But it finally happened and now maybe the Republican House can get back to the business of the people, being led by a true conservative for once!
