It’s being reported that the former Prime Minister of Somalia, while at a rally supporting Ilhan Omar in Minnesota, revealed Omar’s true intentions to the Somalian people in the crowd.

Hassan Ali Khaire told the crowd in Somali that Omar wasn’t here to represent the interests of Minnesota or America, but that of Somalia.

And she was beside him, listening and smiling at his words the entire time.

Representative Ilhan Omar, who has written the name of Somalia with a gold pen. The interests of Ilhan are not Ilhan’s. It’s not the interest of Minnesota. Nor is it the interest of the American people. The interests of Ilhan is that of the Somalian people and Somalia. The success of Ilhan is the success of Somalia and that carries heavy meaning to us.

That’s very disturbing, especially since he didn’t say it in English. As a Congresswoman, her sole interests are to represent the people in her district and the American people by extension. Not Somalia.

I would love to hear what Speaker Johnson thinks about this and if he’s willing to do anything about it. If Democrats can strip MTG of committee memberships, Republicans should be able to do the same over something like this.
