The shooter who tried to assassinate President Trump, Thomas Matthew Crooks, did register as a Republican when he turned 18 but also donated to Act Blue on Biden’s inauguration day:
NY POST – According to state voter status records, Crooks was a registered Republican.
The shooter made one singular $15 donation to the liberal ActBlue political action committee on January 20, 2021 — Biden’s Inauguration Day, the Intercept reported.
At the time of the donation, Crooks was 17-years-old. He registered to vote upon turning 18 in September of that same year as a member of the GOP, records show.
The post also reports that one of Crooks’ fellow classmate said he wasn’t all that weird but was more of a loner:
One former classmate, who confirmed photos of Crooks, told The Post, “He didn’t seem like really weird or anything. I would have pegged him as a Republican.”
The classmate added: “He was more of a loner. He probably had a friend group, but not many friends.
Asked why he wasn’t in the 2022 yearbook, the classmate said “Maybe he didn’t come back after Covid.”
The shooter’s father is refusing to give details about his son until he talks to law enforcement:
The father of 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks reportedly said he is trying to figure out “what the hell is going on” as his son was identified as former President Trump’s attempted assassin.
Matthew Crooks wouldn’t provide details about his son and wanted to “wait until I talk to law enforcement,” before speaking out on the horrific shooting, the elder Crooks told CNN on Saturday night.
Thomas Crooks was shot and killed after he opened fire at former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The actual motive for why Crooks tried to assassinate Trump is still unknown at this time. He must have bought into to all the hateful rhetoric being said about Trump to even try to kill Trump. That’s just my speculation as I try to comprehend why anyone would want to do this.
I’ll certainly let you know more when I get it.
