President Trump has just announced that he believes Hamas is ready for peace and says Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.

He wants to get the hostages safely out, and he can’t do that with Israel bombing.

Here is his full statement:

Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that. We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East.

I have a feeling that Trump telling Israel to stop bombing is an olive branch, which he hopes will grease the skids for Hamas to accept the full agreement. He apparently has no problem with Hamas wanting to negotiate details.
