Tonight on Newsmax Trump told Eric Bolling that he would not sign the RNC loyalty pledge, which is required to attend the first debate.

He claims he’ll announce next week whether or not he’ll attend:

If he won’t sign the pledge, which only says that he will support the eventual nominee of the Republican Primary, that’s a really big deal. That tells me that what some have feared about the potential outcome of this primary battle is possible, which is that if Trump doesn’t win he could run third party.

I know what he says here about not wanting to support some of the candidates but I’m not sure I buy that completely. There may be some truth to that, but let’s be honest. Trump feels like he’s owed the presidency after what happened in 2020 and I’ve wondered (to myself) if that could be motivation enough for him to blow it all up with a third party run.

Whatever the case, I saw someone on X say that if he won’t sign the pledge he doesn’t belong on that stage. I would be inclined to agree with that. As much as I don’t like some of the candidates that may be on stage, any of them would be better than Joe Biden.
