It’s being reported that Speaker Johnson believes he has the votes from Republicans to pass a clean continuing resolution to keep the government from shutting down.

Here’s the news:

“I think we have the votes, and I think it’s just very unfortunate the Democrats are trying to play partisan games when we’re in good faith trying to fund the government.”

Johnson has said this before and it didn’t come to pass, so we’ll see if he’s right this time. It sucks that it’s a clean CR, but I get why they are doing this given Schumer’s absolute need to prove himself to the left after he caved earlier this year.
