It is being reported this morning that the disastrous flooding that is taking place in the state of Texas has claimed the lives of now 27, of which 9 are children. Dozens are still missing, according to Texas officials, and hundreds have been injured.

President Trump released a message this morning to the families who have fallen victim to these floodwaters, saying that he is sending DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, that his administration is on the ground, working with Texas officials. And that he and Melania are praying for all these families:

The Trump Administration is working with State and Local Officials on the ground in Texas in response to the tragic flooding that took place yesterday. Our Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, will be there shortly. Melania and I are praying for all of the families impacted by this horrible tragedy. Our Brave First Responders are on site doing what they do best. GOD BLESS THE FAMILIES, AND GOD BLESS TEXAS!

I understand all of this is happening well north of San Antonio. It is truly a tragedy that so many have lost their lives, especially these little children who went to camp to celebrate July 4th in areas near the Guadalupe River. All I can say now is that I hope the rescue efforts succeed in saving the innocent, and that all who have died are welcomed into the peaceful arms of the only Living and Loving God.
