


Cracker Barrel decided to rebrand last week and has been met with a tremendous backlash that has even caused its stock price to tank.
The restaurant that I and millions of Americans love decided to abandon Uncle Hershel and go with a plain-Jane logo. They also decided to ‘declutter’ the walls of their restaurants, and people did not like the idea at all, calling it a ‘woke’ rebranding and pointing to how the CEO is a major fan of the LGBTQ community.
Yesterday, Cracker Barrel put out an apology of sorts, saying they could have handled the rebranding better, but they didn’t really seem intent on backtracking – probably because they’ve already spent $700 million on the rebranding.
President Trump just weighed on the scandal, telling the restaurant chain that they should admit their mistakes and go back to the way it was:
Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before. They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity. Have a major News Conference today. Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again. I think eventually they’ll do this, but only after their sales crater because no one wants to eat at the new ‘woke’ Cracker Barrel.
