President Trump has just reasserted his commitment to negotiations with Iran, posting “we remain committed to a Diplomatic Resolution to the Iran Nuclear Issue.”

Here’s what he said:

We remain committed to a Diplomatic Resolution to the Iran Nuclear Issue! My entire Administration has been directed to negotiate with Iran. They could be a Great Country, but they first must completely give up hopes of obtaining a Nuclear Weapon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

This sounds like it was aimed at both Israel and Iran. I’m guessing that Trump doesn’t want Israel to attack Iran yet, however Israel feels like they can’t wait much longer and wants to go ahead with it.

The fact that Trump is pulling people out of the region suggests Israel may begin attacking without his blessing. But he wants Iran to know he won’t be behind the bombing, should it happen.

Earlier today Trump said he’s ‘fairly close’ to a deal on the nuclear issue, and is willing to normalize relations with them to some degree, meaning trade, if that’s what does it.

But I just don’t think that’s what is going on
