President Trump this morning issued a veiled threat to the country of Iran on the issue of nuclear weapons. He posted this on truth social, telling the Iranians that he wants them to prosper, but without nuclear weapons.

The he writes “Reports that the United States, working in conjunction with Israel, “is going to blow Iran into smithereens,” ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED.”

Trump indicates that he wants a nuclear agreement, which he calls a “Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement”, and adds that this “will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper”

I want Iran to be a great and successful Country, but one that cannot have a Nuclear Weapon. Reports that the United States, working in conjunction with Israel, is going to blow Iran into smithereens,” ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED. I would much prefer a Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement, which will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper. We should start working on it immediately, and have a big Middle East Celebration when it is signed and completed. God Bless the Middle East!

There is no nuclear agreement with Iran that will succeed. Just like with Obama and Biden, they will hide their activities and prevent inspectors from checking everything.

But I really don’t think this ‘agreement’ is the point of Trump’s post. I think the real point is the veiled threat of the US and Israel blowing “Iran into smithereens”. He’s basically saying get rid of your nuclear development or we’ll do it for you.
