Gavin Newsom claimed this morning that President Trump didn’t call him about the riots in Los Angeles. This was in response to Trump saying today that he called Newsom a day ago.

But Trump called Fox News host John Roberts to prove he did call him, saying the call lasted 16 minutes.

Here’s what Roberts wrote:

“First call was not picked up. Second call, Gavin picked up, we spoke for 16 minutes. I told him to, essentially, “get his ass in gear,” and stop the Riots, which were out of control. More than anything else, this shows what a liar he is – Said I never called. Here is the evidence.”

As you can see from the date, this was on Saturday and not yesterday. So did Newsom lie? Trump paused for a second before saying ‘a day ago’. I think he’s so busy that he lost track of which day he called. But you can bet the media will jump on this to say Trump is losing his sharp mental edge.
