One of the ousted Tennessee lawmakers was just restored to his seat and the other is expected to follow suit.

According to Politico, the “Nashville Metro Council unanimously voted” to send Rep. Justin Jones back to his seat after being expeled by the Republican supermajority for the bullhorn protest he led onto the House chamber.

They also report that Rep. Justin Pearson is expected to be “reinstated by Memphis council members on Wednesday.”

In their writeup on this, Politico followed marching orders to push the phony racial narrative that Democrats are trying foist on the Republican supermajority:

Jones, 27, was kicked out of the state Legislature last week by a Republican supermajority for participating in a gun reform protest on the House floor, a violation of decorum rules. The GOP also removed Rep. Justin Pearson, another millennial Black Democrat, for the same violations. Yet Republicans didn’t summon enough votes to remove a third member, Rep. Gloria Johnson, a white lawmaker who also called for changes to gun laws by briefly taking over the legislative chamber.

The emphasis is mine, to quickly call your attention to the racist narrative.

As we explained last week, this had nothing to do with race and everything to do with their actions.

The Tennessee House speaker said that Johnson and her lawyer argued against her expulsion, providing evidence that she wasn’t as involved in this bullhorn protest as the other two. Yet she claims she wasn’t expelled because she was white and the media continue to push this garbage narrative.
