It’s being reported that Mexico’s president is now a participant in President Trump’s Remain in Mexico program after she admitted receiving non-Mexicans from the US this last week.
Here’s more from Reuters:
Mexico has received non-Mexican deportees from the United States in the past week, President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Monday, reversing her previous opposition to doing so.
Sheinbaum said that Mexico had accepted over 4,000 deportees, of which “the large majority” were Mexican, including people sent on four deportation flights from the U.S. using civil aircraft.
Since U.S. President Donald Trump took office, there has not been a “substantial” increase in deportees received by Mexico, Sheinbaum said.
The leftist leader had previously said that her administration had not agreed to the restart of the “Remain in Mexico” program by the Trump administration, which would send non-Mexican migrants back to Mexico while they awaited processing by the United States.
Every one who previously opposed Trump’s deportation policies is either falling in line now or will fall in line soon.
