Kevin McCarthy was just ousted from the speakership after the motion to vacate by Matt Gaetz was successful. The loss by McCarthy was among the narrowest of margins.

Those Republicans voting against McCarthy were Biggs, Burchett, Buck, Crane, Gaetz, Good, Mace, and Rosendale.

The full vote is 216 Yays, 210 Nays.

At this point the House must elected a new speaker since nothing can be done legislatively until that happens. In other words it’s January all over again.
