A federal judge, appointed by Bill Clinton, has just ruled that Google has illegal monopolies in advertising technology, claiming they’ve illegally dominated two markets for it’s online ad tech.

According to reports, the judge may allow the US to argue for the breakup of Google’s advertising arm:

REUTERS – Google illegally dominated two markets for online advertising technology, a federal judge said on Thursday, dealing another blow to the tech titan in an antitrust case brought by the U.S.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema in Alexandria, Virginia, could allow prosecutors to argue for a breakup of Google’s advertising products. The U.S. Department of Justice has said that Google should have to sell off at least its Google Ad Manager, which includes the company’s publisher ad server and its ad exchange.

Google used classic monopoly-building tactics of eliminating competitors through acquisitions, locking customers in to using its products, and controlling how transactions occurred in the online ad market, prosecutors said at trial.

I’ve believed for a long time now that Google needs to be broken up, just like AT&T was back in the day. Not only have they created illegal monopolies, but they’ve censored and punished conservative online platforms, like The Right Scoop, by banning use of their advertising.

Nearly every company in the ad world works with Google, which makes it very difficult to find good advertising sources. I’ve had companies want to work with me, but then they see that Google hates TRS and refuses to allow their ads and then they walk away.

This is why Google must be broken up, because of their unfair practices in every way with their advertising.
