Joe Manchin announced a few moments ago that he has just left the Democratic Party. Manchin held up a form in a photos showing he is now registered as an Independent:

If Manchin really wants to bring this country together, he’ll withdraw his vote for Schumer to run the Senate. That would really be an announcement!

Until then, I don’t think this really changes anything meaningful.
