Jim Jordan has just lost his second vote to be speaker of the House, losing by two more votes than he did yesterday.

Today Jordan only got 199 votes and lost 22 votes from obstinate Republicans:

So what happens next? There could be a third vote, but considering that Jordan’s vote is going the wrong way, I wouldn’t expect that any time soon.

There is reporting that suggests Republicans will return to another caucus meeting after this vote in order to see where they go from here:

 
UPDATE: The House is officially in recess as we await the next move from House Republicans. If they got into a closed door conference, then the move to make McHenry a permanent pro tem speaker will likely be put forward.
