The House voted this morning to pass a clean continuing resolution despite very stiff opposition from all Democrats except one, Jared Golden from Maine. It passed by a vote of 217-212, with both Thomas Massie and Victoria Spartz voting no.
Now the bill heads to Chuck Schumer, where he’s going to try and appease his liberal base by voting to block the CR and shut down the government. You can be sure the media will make him a hero.
In other news, the House just passed a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk this morning and, given the gruesome nature of this political assassination, still got what I would call stiff opposition from Democrats:
Yesterday, the US Senate passed a resolution to honor Charlie Kirk as well, creating a Day of Remembrance that would fall on Kirk’s birthday, October 14.
