Matt Gaetz told reporters a few moments ago that he and the other members who ousted McCarthy are willing to accept serious punishment if it means getting Jordan elected as House Speaker.

Gaetz said “We are willing to accept censure, sanction, suspension, and removal from the Republican conference… If what these holdouts need are a pound of our flesh, we’re willing to give it to them to see Jim Jordan as speaker.”

 
Here’s the official letter posted by Gaetz. It is signed by all eight Republicans, including Nancy Mace:

BREAKING: All 8 Republicans Who Voted to Remove McCarthy From Speakership Are Willing to Accept “Censure, Suspension, or Removal From the Conference” In Order to Elect @Jim_Jordan as Speaker

“If the holdouts who refuse to vote for Speaker-Designate Jim Jordan would be willing to ‘vote with the team’ and elect him the 56th House Speaker, we are prepared to accept censure, suspension, or removal from the Conference to accomplish this objective.”

While it’s a stand up move, I don’t know that most of these holdouts would accept it and vote for Jordan. They seem pretty resolute in their opposition to Jordan because they want to make him pay for his ‘sins’.
