It’s being reported that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was taken to the hospital after an allergic reaction today. She is said to be recovering and is alert.
Here’s more from The Hill:
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem was taken to a hospital on Tuesday after having an allergic reaction, according to the department.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that Noem was “alert” and recovering from the incident.
“Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering,” McLaughlin said in a statement.
CNN reported late Tuesday afternoon that Noem was taken by ambulance to a DC-area hospital and that she was “conscious” in the hospital and has “spoken to her security detail” and her doctor.
Having only had one allergic reaction in my life, which was during my chemo treatments in 2022, in which I started to bottom out (anaphylaxis), I can better appreciate her situation. I wish her the best and hope she’s back at work soon.
