President-elect Trump today put his full backing behind the special session which Governor DeSantis called for yesterday to ready Florida to aid in mass deportations.
And he did this after the leaders of Florida’s House and Senate opposed the special session. Claiming to be big supporters of President Trump, they said:
“As the people’s elected representatives, the Legislature, not the Governor, will decide when and what legislation we consider.”
They argue that it is irresponsible to get out ahead of any specific guidance Trump may give to the states.
But President Trump just posted his approval for DeSantis calling this special session and said he hopes all governors follow his lead: “Thank you Ron, hopefully other Governors will follow!”
Mark Levin responded to these Republican leaders as well, calling them typical do-nothing Republicans:
Florida’s Perez and Albritton, typical do-nothing Republicans
Perez and Albritton are Florida legislative “leaders?” They sound like California Democrats. They are opposing DeSantis’s call for a special session to deal with the deportation of illegal aliens and further hurricane relief. Perez and Albritton’s communications people put together this stupid release as an excuse for doing nothing. I encourage Floridians to get involved on these two huge issues, call your state reps and state senators, call Perez and Albritton, and insist that they act IMMEDIATELY.
Exactly, and I don’t think this is all that hard. Working with Trump’s mass deportations plans might have a lot of detail, but I think Governor DeSantis laid it all out yesterday on what they need to do.
