Senator Mike Lee made a totally based point tonight about Voter ID that leftists will absolutely hate.

Mike Lee said yesterday that Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act is necessary to prevent noncitizens from voting in our elections.

Some leftist dipwad, among many, today responded “Why doesn’t a senator know that non citizens already can’t vote in federal elections?”

That’s when Mike Lee lowered the boom:

Progressive Democrats keep saying the SAVE Act isn’t necessary because noncitizens are already prohibited from voting in federal elections.

By that same logic, criminal background checks aren’t necessary because committing murder with a gun is already against the law.

His response to the lame ‘it’s already illegal’ argument really is a fantastic point. If they claim ‘but people are murdering people so we need new laws’, Lee can just say ‘well noncitizens are voting in our elections so we need new laws’. Seriously, Texas is the latest example and they are pursuing legal action against a bunch of nonctizens for doing just that.
