Boy this was fast. It was just earlier tonight that a federal judge in San Francisco tried to usurp the power of the power of the President by ordering Trump to release control of the National Guard back to Gavin Newsom.
Well, hours later, that decision has just been undone by the Ninth Circuit:
THE HILL – A federal appeals court panel late Thursday temporarily lifted a judge’s order ruling President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard illegal, enabling the troops to remain assisting with immigration raids in Los Angeles, for now.
The ruling from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals landed mere hours after U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer ordered the president to return control of the troops to California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) by Friday afternoon.
The three-judge panel said they will hold a hearing Tuesday afternoon on whether to grant a longer pause.
They need to completely nix Breyer’s ruling altogether and make this pause permanent.
