ABC has just pulled Jimmy Kimmel off the air after his disgusting comments from last night on Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Starting tonight, ABC will begin preempting Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show with other programming.
Here’s the news via Deadline:
There will be no more Jimmy Kimmel on TV for the foreseeable future.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be preempted indefinitely,” an ABC spokesperson told Deadline today.
The stunning dropping of Kimmel comes mere minutes after Nexstar axed his late night show on the stations it owns throughout the nation.
“Nexstar’s owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the foreseeable future beginning with tonight’s show,” said the company in a statement Wednesday. “Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”
Reps for Kimmel did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment on the shuttering of Live!
I had just written an article about Nexstar dropping Kimmel from their 32 stations when I saw that ABC had done it for the entire network. Way to go Nexstar for putting pressure on ABC to do this and shutting Kimmel down indefinitely.
